Power & Speed for Pro Dutch

Even without firing up the engine or move one inch a Pro Modified drag racing car is a first class eye catcher. That’s what Pro Dutch Racing found out again at the Power & Speed meeting in Papendrecht. “From early in the morning until the end of the meeting it was so busy, I have never seen so many people gathered around the car. A great success”,  Robert Joosten looked back at a very successful day.

" this guy needed a new company car "

The city of Papendrecht celebrated Koninginnedag with Power & Speed, a show for cars from all forms of motorsport. Pro Dutch Racing showed its 2.500 bhp ’70 Chevrolet Camaro from their FIA European Championship campaign. Pro Dutch attracted a lot of attention. “From 9.30 AM until 4 PM a large crowd was gathered around the car. I have never seen so many people in one day around the Camaro. Everybody was very enthusiastic and the question I heard most was ‘what’s that, I have never seen something like that before’. When we explained what the car is capable of and its technology everybody was very surprised and staid for a while. We had to answer so many questions. Even the mayor came along and was very interested. We wanted to fire up the car but it was so busy and there were so many young children hanging around, it would have been too noisy”, said Robert Joosten. The driver, his crew and the organisation were all very happy and looked back at a very successful day.

" busy busy "

Open house a great success for Pro Dutch Racing

Perfect weather and a great audience last Saturday at Pro Dutch Racing. At least 150 to 200 people came to Werkendam to see the ’70 Camaro and meet the team. “It was great to see so many new people who had never seen or heard a Pro Mod car before. They did not know what to say when we fired up the car and they heard the sound of 2.500 bhp”, said a more than happy Robert Joosten. For those who could not come to Werkendam, Pro Dutch Racing’s next public appearance will be Power & Speed in Papendrecht, next Saturday, ‘Koninginnedag’.

This year’s open house at Pro Dutch Racing, one of the frontrunners in the FIA European Pro Modified Championship, was the Saturday before Easter Sunday. “At 2 PM the first group of guests was already waiting to get in and one and a half hour later when they left the next group came in. Everybody took their time and was very interested and enthusiastic. We fired up the engine twice that afternoon and for those who had never heard a Pro Mod car before that was a very special moment”,  said a very happy Robert Joosten.

"  fire in da hole !!  "

For those who could not come to Werkendam, the 2.500 bhp Pro Dutch Camaro can be seen at the Power & Speed meeting in Papendrecht next Saturday. All forms of motorsport will be represented at Power & Speed.

 "  ready to rumble "

After the Power & Speed event Pro Dutch Racing will start its final preparations for the oncoming season. The first race for the FIA European Championship will be at Santa Pod Raceway, from May 27 until May 30. Pro Dutch Racing will travel to England the week before the race to test their car at the Santa Pod track and be fully prepared for the first race of the 2011 season.

Open house at Pro Dutch Racing

Never seen a Pro Modified car or heard the sound of 2.500 bhp? Saturday April 23 can be your first time because that’s the day Pro Dutch Racing will have its annual open house and the ’70 Camaro can be seen and even more important, heard. And as a real open house should be, everybody is invited. Time and place: from 2.00 until 5.00 PM Vierlinghstraat 49A 11, 4251 LC Werkendam.

Pro Dutch Racing always does its very best to get into the spotlights and the team’s annual open house is a tradition for many years now. The open house is not for sponsors, friends and relatives only, no everybody is invited to see the car and meet the driver and crew. During the winter the team has been hard at work to bring the ’70 Camaro in racing condition and rebuilt the Pro Dutch truck and trailer. Saturday April 23 the results of all the hard work can be seen in the Vierlinghstraat 49A 11, 4251 LC Werkendam. Everybody is invited from 2.00 until 5.00 PM to meet the team. After 5 PM the meeting is for special invited guests only. Robert Joosten and all his crew members will be there to answer all questions about the car, the technology and drag racing in general. Highlight will be the moment the team will  fire up the Pro Dutch Camaro and people can hear the raw sound of 2.500 bhp.

Pro Dutch Racing will do the full FIA European Championship tour in the Pro Modified class, the world’s fastest drag racing class for doorslammers. With at least 25 entrants Pro Modified is the most competitive class of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. Pro Dutch Racing is among the favourites to win races in that prestigious championship. Their goal for this season is to end up in the top five of the title race. Robert Joosten made history in 2008 by becoming the first ever Dutchman to win a race in the FIA Pro Modified Championship, take the Swedish Pro Mod title and reset the Alastaro track record. Joosten ended the season as the runner up in the FIA Championship.
